Dog Blood
|

Mans inhumanity to man always gets me interested, this book satiates my
bloodlust and some!
The story carries on, with a four month gap, from David's 2006 book
'Hater'.
The World has changed, almost overnight a fifth of the population of the
World become haters, all the previous reasons for hate such as race and
religion are now forgotten, all there are now are the Unchanged and the
Haters, and a bloody vicious war is ensuing, and will continue until one
side is victorious. The upper hand is with the Haters, their lack of
remorse and overall individual power, strength and resilience their
advantage.
In the middle of all this is Danny (our 'anti-hero' from the first
book), he went from bored, underachieving family man to a hater in a
moment that changed him forever. He is now searching for his daughter,
the only member of his family also a hater, He doesn't know if she's
dead or alive but he must find out. He searches and kills in a post
cataclysmic landscape, where the unchanged are herded by the unchanged
military for their protection. But the haters are becoming organised!!
This book is David Moody at his best, its the perfect sequel, it doesn't
lose the raw terror from the first book and the attention to detail is
spot on and in keeping, revisiting places and emotions from the first
that I, as the reader, really wanted to know about, its like the author
read my mind! This book not only carries on the story from 'Hater' but
also expands the story with the introduction of different types of
haters and numerous sub stories.
